World Traditions - Patrick Glenn

There are seven major traditions according to him:
1.             Chthonic legal tradition (To recycle the world)
2.             Talmudic legal tradition (Jewish law and tradition)
3.             Hindu Legal tradition
4.             Asian legal tradition. Glenn devotes most of the content of this to:
§  Pre, post and neo confusion or Chinese legal tradition
§  Wants to see how it reflected the customs, norms and practices and in the social, societal, familial, and legal relations of the diverse people of Asia. Hence comments were that he should have labelled that as “An East Asian legal tradition” as it was mostly on the study of Chinese tradition
5.             Civil law tradition
6.             Common law tradition

7.             Islamic legal tradition
